Privacy, in plain language.

OkiYep stores your account email, a password hash, and the profile details you choose to add. Personal contact and address details are encrypted in your profile. Email is stored so you can sign in.

You choose at checkout

Scanning a bill does not share your profile. You review the requested details and select what to share. All fields start unchecked. Merchants can mark fields as required to approve a request; you can still decline, and the merchant handles next steps. A record of your decision and any shared values is kept in the consent history.

Your controls

You can edit or clear optional profile details, download your data, change your password, sign out, or delete your account from Settings. Deletion removes your profile and consent records from this application. It cannot recall information a merchant has already received.

Your account session

A required session cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days. Authentication attempts are limited to help protect accounts. No marketing preference is enabled by default.

Offers and merchant accounts

The merchant offers feed is enabled by default; you can turn it off in your profile. It does not opt you into direct marketing or share your profile. Promotions are supplied by approved merchants and may have their own terms. Merchant registration stores business contact details and outlet information for owner review and operation of the service.

Email verification and recovery

Customers must verify their email before approving a checkout sharing request. Verification and password recovery send single-use links to your account email when email delivery is configured. Reset links expire in 30 minutes and a completed password reset signs out existing sessions.

Camera and receipts

Camera access is used to read checkout QR codes. OkiYep does not upload or save camera frames. You can close the scanner or paste a checkout link instead. When you choose to print or share a bill, your device opens its printing or sharing options. Shared receipt text includes the bill items and totals, not your shared profile fields; the full printed bill can include the sharing record displayed on screen.
